2012 Class Schedule is up

Check out my class schedule for 2012!  I have some exciting cards and projects coming up.

Valentine's Card Class

For my Valentine's class, I designed cards to "die" for.  All about die cuts and embossing, that is.  Here are the cards from the class...
The first card is a gate fold using the heart set from DeNami Designs stamped in Burnt Umber ink.  I used the 1" and 1 1/2" punches to make the heart discs.  The center frame is cut using the Spellbinders Classic Scallop edge die set.  Love them!  I embossed the cream card pieces using a new Cheerylynn embossing plate.  I have to say I am a big fan of the Cheerylynn dies!!!
Notice the inside of the card detail.  I've embossed using the Top Score Board template.  Easy Peasy!!!  and it adds such a nice finishing touch to the card.
This Stained Glass Heart card is my favorite!!!  I could not wait to teach this technique.  I used the Heart within my Heart doily die from Cheerylynn.  Isn't it pretty!  I love this die!!!  You can do this technique with any die by using the negative and positive pieces.  Here's how I did it...
First I die cut the heart 2 times out of black and 1 time out of blue.  Then I embossed the blue pieces using an embossing folder.  Working on the backside of the pieces, I pieced them together (taking out the blue heart and replacing it with the black and putting the blue heart in the center.)  I then took a large piece of double stick tape and carefully taped the pieces in place (from the back).  I turned it over and added glitter to the front openings.  Peeled off the protective layer from the back of the tape and stuck on a piece of vellum.  I colored the back of the vellum with die markers to add color to the heart. I added a black ribbon to the bottom.  Then I attached the piece to a black card.  Last, I scored the other black heart die cut in the center and added adhesive just in the center and attached it to the front.

This last card is stamped using Burnt Umber ink. the tree, accessory set and triple line stamp are from DeNami Designs.  I also used a couple small hearts I had from Darcie's.  One open and one solid.  I colored using Copic markers.  I used chartreuse & L'Amour red for the leaves, the triple line and solid hearts.
I pop dotted a few of the bird houses to add dimension and finished it off with stickles.  I love my stickles!
These are the treats I made for the class participants.  They are valentines pop holders.  I made a variety but here a just a few.  They are really easy and a cute little gift idea.

I hope you enjoy the Valentine's class cards and ideas!

October!!!

Needless to say, October was one of the busiest months I've had for the entire year!  I will be posting a class schedule for November and December at least 2 weeks in advance of the classes.  I have been working on ideas for the Copic intermediate class but still need to tie it all up into a class.  I've also just gotten in some great new products that I can't wait to start playing with... like the Elizabeth Craft Designs and the Sizzix jewelry dies!!!  I'll be making some projects with these items soon and offering classes.  Keep posted for updates or email me if you have any questions.

Elizabeth Craft Designs

Just got the order in from Elizabeth Craft Designs!  This company has some great product that makes a super clean card design.  No stamping required and beautiful results! These cards were made using Elizabeth Craft Designs sticker products.  Along with some glitter and double sided tape, they are easy and fun to make!

It's time for the big vendor fair!

I'll be attending the Collins Group Vendor Fair in Houston this weekend.  I have a class on Friday where we will be making the Quick Flip She Chef Recipe Album!  I know everyone will enjoy this class.  On Saturday, we will be having a huge make & take frenzy.  Our make & take will be the Christmas Spice Cat easel card.  Then on Sunday we will have an all day Trade Show for all the store owners that are attending.  My friend Karen will be joining me to help out.  I know we'll have a great time!  We've been working on some new samples for the show.  I'll post them next week on Thursday.  I also have a couple new samples from Loralie and a few from my friends, Lynn & Nadine.  There are some really cute cards!

The new She Chef set from Loralie Designs

This is a recipe book I created for a class using the new She Chef set.  Mat board was used for the covers.  I wanted the front to look like a cafe'.  I used Graphic 45 Miss Manners patterned paper.  I also used the brick embossing folder from Tim Holtz on the red and the cream strip just above it.  The red trim piece at the top is from the Sizzix Album with Tabs Pro Die.  I also used the tabbed index cards from the die on the inside of the album.  As it says on the front... this recipe book is "just desserts".
